The Voice of Midlife and
Older Women in Illinois

The Older Women's League (OWL) is open to anyone of any age. It presents programs on issues of interest to midlife and older women, and advocates for policy changes on the state and national level. OWL- Illinois provides support to Illinois OWL chapters.

OWL's National Agenda focuses on the following issues:

  • Financial Security

  • Health

  • Control to the End of Life

  • The Image of Midlife and Older Women

  • Access to Housing and Housing Alternatives

  • Ending Violence against Women and the Elderly

  • Job Discrimination and Discrimination in the Workplace

Give 'Em Health Revisited: Medicare for All, a 2007 OWL report advocating universal health care, is available free! It's full of useful information, 38 pages and very readable. To get your copy, e-mail us your name and U.S. postal address. Also, please let us know if you are an OWL member and if not a member, how you found this web site. (You don't have to be a member to get the report.)
